• SPY Radar Technician

    As a SI&T SPY Radar Technician supporting PEO IWS, you will be trusted to bring together a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed to provide engineering planning, design, integration, installation, and test of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) onboard ships post-construction and during maintenance availabilities. This senior position will be tied to both Program Management and Engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the AN/SPY Radar System is operable and available to support testing.

    Specific responsibilities include:

    Coordinate with the AN/SPY Radar Systems Engineer for signal processor/antenna matters.

    Assist in identifying, isolating and repairing processing, array, power and cooling equipment problems

    Report to the Combat Systems O&M Manager and ATO/ATM when directed

    Identify and resolve AN/SPY Radar System equipment and documentation discrepancies

    Submit AN/SPY Radar System equipment status reports

    Assist in the resolution of AN/SPY logistics issues

    Review AN/SPY drawings, documents, and test procedures

    Report recommendations for improvement or discrepancies noted

    Ensure AN/SPY Radar equipment is activated, operational and properly configured to support each test event

    Assist during test conduct

    Assist shipyard and installation teams with equipment issues

    Assist with collection and analysis of AN/SPY Radar performance data

    Assist or perform government conducted tests on respective systems in port and at sea

    Ensure Safe in-port radiation practices are followed

    Assist crew familiarization and training

    Assist in Combat System alignment efforts

    Assess system installation and operation in support of upcoming ship and availability milestones

    Lead or participate in ship checks to accomplish surveys of the Combat System spaces.

    Develop Power Point presentations as required.

    Participate in meetings and phone conferences when required by the government sponsor.

    Assist in the resolution of Combat System space arrangement issues occurring on the waterfront during equipment installations.

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

    A Bachelor of Arts or Science (BA/BS) in the relevant field and 10+ years of experience as a SPY Radar Technician (or 15+ years of experience without a degree)

    Ability to work collaboratively as part of the larger GDIT Navy and Marine Corps Sector

    A US DoD Secret security clearance is required.
